| Situated in Stellenbosch in the beautiful winelands region of the Western Cape of South Africa is Yabat El Chilab - the "House of Hounds". 25 years of selective breeding to both American (Coastwind) and English (Kharisar and Khanabad) bloodlines have produced Afghan Hounds with correct conformation, sound movement and even temperament. Or lines produce the whole colour range from blues to blue brindles, creams, whites, apricots, dominoes, black and tans and also black masked golds. We have recently introduced genes from the distinguished Du Menuel Afghans from France. Pictured is Melika an exquisitely sculpted black and brindle bitch at three years of age. The photograph was taken on the West Coast of South Africa in Springtime where we have the most wonderful natural flower spectacle each year. Afghan Hounds are sight hounds and are of the most agile and fast hunters in the dog world. Please visit the Afghan Hound Breeders and Information Exchange and visit our homepage there. I have no link yet as the page is in the process of being created. E-mail me for further information. |
